Do you believe learning should be alive with purpose and possibility—not locked inside rigid lesson plans and lectures? At Apogee Anson, we’re reimagining school, and we’re looking for a full-time Lead Coach to help ignite that vision every single day.
This role centers around CORE time—our dedicated morning academic block where learners (we call them Trailblazers) dive deep into foundational skills like reading, writing, and math. You’ll guide a mixed-age studio, supporting both our Ignite Studio (ages 5–8) and Discover Studio (ages 9–12) in a dynamic, learner-driven environment that doesn’t look or feel like a traditional classroom.
Inspire Curiosity: Create a space where questions matter more than answers, and learners believe that anything is possible.
Coach Mastery, Not Memorization: Use tools like Lexia, IXL, Khan Academy and more to help each Trailblazer move at their own pace toward real understanding.
Form Goal-Setting Habits: Help learners set weekly academic goals, track their progress, and reflect on their growth.
Guide with Grace & Grit: Build small groups based on learner needs—maybe it’s long division this week, or sentence structure next week—and motivate each child to push through challenges with both empathy and high expectations.
Celebrate Growth: Provide meaningful feedback, recognize effort, and fuel intrinsic motivation so kids become the best version of themselves.
This isn’t a job for someone who wants to teach from a script. This is a calling for someone who can light the fire of lifelong learning—every day, in every child.
QUALIFICATIONS:
At Apogee Anson, our learning lodge coaches are dynamic individuals who thrive with independence and minimal oversight, embracing collaboration, creativity, and a continuous improvement mindset. They have a profound respect for children and believe in the God-given potential within each individual to make a positive impact on the world.
Ideal candidates demonstrate:
A passion for igniting the love of learning
A balance of resilience and warmth
Strong observational, organizational, and relationship-building skills
Patience, curiosity, and adaptability under pressure
The ability to foster a lifelong love of learning in every trailblazer.
Position Overview:
Are you energized by kids, excited about learning, and ready to help build something truly different? We’re looking for both full-time and part-time Assistant Coaches to join our Apogee Anson team—a dynamic, fast-paced, deeply relational environment where learners (Trailblazers) grow not just academically, but in courage, character, and creativity.
This role is hands-on, heart-led, and joy-filled. You’ll work side-by-side with our Lead Coaches to support both academic CORE time and afternoon Adventures (our version of project-based learning). You won’t be stuck behind a desk or bound to a whiteboard. One moment you might be helping a Trailblazer master short vowels or regrouping, and the next you’ll be elbow-deep in cardboard prototypes, volcano experiments, or community-based projects.
Support Academic Mornings: Walk alongside learners during focused academic time, offering encouragement, feedback, and small-group help when needed.
Dive Into Adventures: In the afternoons, assist with hands-on projects that blend science, history, and real-world problem solving.
Foster Relationships: Build trust and connection with Trailblazers through consistent support, high expectations, and a deep belief in their potential.
Adapt & Jump In: Flexibility is key. Whether leading a group, prepping materials, or calming a tough moment, you’re ready to step in wherever needed.
Champion Growth: Help learners track their goals, reflect on their work, and take pride in their progress.
You have experience with kids (camp, coaching, tutoring, etc.) and a passion for their growth.
You believe in learner-driven education and want to help build something meaningful.
You bring calm energy, a collaborative spirit, and a “let’s figure it out” mindset.
You’re organized, self-motivated, and excited to work as part of a tight-knit team.
You’re not afraid to be silly or to set a high bar for excellence.
This is a rewarding opportunity to be part of an education model that values creativity, independence, and collaboration. If you’re passionate about empowering young trailblazers to reach their full potential, we’d love to hear from you!
